The ensemble played at Bonaventure at Keizer Station, Solista Newberg and Brookdale Newberg, according to Alicia Rasmussen, a local musician who helped organize the outing. The band is under the direction of Juan Valdez.

Students traveled by bus, with a parent “roadie” van accompanying the ensemble carrying a keyboard, amps, drums and stands and snacks and lunch.

“This was such a positive and memorable experience for everyone –  the students and the residents. I could not have been more proud of these young adults!” Rasmussen said in an email.
