The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Salem Reporter logo

Good morning, Salem.

Tonight, you can get a good sense of those who want to run Salem city government.

You can still get free tickets for the Salem Reporter Town Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m. with a program starting at 6 p.m.

Why show up early?

Because all eight people running for city council and one major candidate for mayor will be in the lobby of Elsinore Theatre before the program. You could score a moment with those running to represent your portion of Salem.

The event is free and tickets are available online. Our earlier story explains who are the candidates that will be there – and who won’t.

We’re adding a twist to this Town Hall – and this involves you.

On Thursday, Salem Reporter will host a roundtable discussion over coffee on at 10 a.m. at Ike Box in downtown Salem. Our reporters want to hear what surprised you about the presentations and if anything disappointed you. This is your chance to provide analysis.

Reporters Abbey McDonald and Joe Siess will write about what they hear at the roundtable.

We’re looking for 10 people to sit down for about an hour to share their views. Want to participate? Email Managing Editor Rachel Alexander ([email protected]) with your name, the ward or area of Salem you live in, and a brief sentence or two about why you want to attend.

Our entire team will be on duty, so you get the added bonus of meeting the folks who bring you Salem Reporter.
