A portion of Southeast Turner Road will be closed for around two weeks as crews build a new Dollar General property.

The street will be closed between Southeast Boone and Deer Park Roads from April 1-15.

Northbound traffic will be detoured to Deer Park Road, continuing to Aumsville Highway. The city of Salem encouraged drivers in a statement to use Delany Road to Commercial Street as an alternate route.

The new 900,000 square-foot project in southeast Salem is needed “to connect the development to new utility infrastructure in the area,” according to the city statement. The property will be used to distribute dry goods and cold storage items for Dollar General.
