Good morning, Salem.

The Salem-grown MIG Fest returns this year, and the punk and ska concert lineup announced yesterday includes rockers from California and the Pacific Northwest.

The festival, now in its fourth year, will be at Minto Island Growers which will sell food from its food cart, and is open to all ages. This year’s headliners are Bad Cop/ Bad Cop, a feminist punk rock group from Southern California. They’ll be joined by Half Past Two, Sad Snack, Simple Minded Symphony and The Wild Jumps.

Last year, founder Sarah Evans told Salem Reporter that the festival is a chance to lay back, relax and enjoy good food and music.

“It’s punk rock and ska music, and a lot of people don’t know those genres very well, or they don’t think about relaxed vibes when they hear ‘punk rock,’ especially,” she said of last year’s festival. “I think that’s what surprises people when they come to the event, that it’s actually really chill and laid-back.”

The festival will be on July 20, and tickets are available online.
