The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.
A one-year-old red Labrador retriever training to be the newest furry recruit for Oregon State Police’s fish and wildlife program needs a new name.
His human colleagues currently call him “Good Dog,” so that means if you are from Oregon and are between the ages of nine and 17, you have a chance to name him. Because he will be partnering with a trooper assigned to OSP’s Fish and Wildlife Division, name suggestions should be related to fish, wildlife or the outdoors.
The deadline for submitting a name is Sunday, June 14, and must be done using OSP’s online entry form here.
One entry per person is accepted and finalists will be chosen from across the state. The winner will get a chance to meet the special dog and will get other awards from OSP.
