Good morning, Salem.
The city of Salem last week reopened the street after a series of improvements to upgrade utilities, add sidewalk and street lights, and otherwise improve the corridor in the Edgewater District.
With added infrastructure, Northwest 2nd Street now connects through Northwest Wallace Road to Northwest Rosemont Avenue. The $6.1 million project was funded through the urban renewal area.
“This crucial link has been a key objective for the City and addresses a long-standing barrier to efficient travel in the area,” the city said in a news release.
