We are in for a hot couple of days.

The forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday predicts temperatures up to 98, and a good chance it could reach 100, according to the National Weather Service. There is a heat warning in effect for the Salem area, along with many other parts of Oregon.

The warning said there is a 40-80% chance of the temperature reaching 100 on Wednesday afternoon, but the Salem forecast shows the high at 98.

With hot temperatures, people are encouraged to drink lots of water, stay in cool places and limit physical activity to mornings and evenings. Leaving children or pets in vehicles will expose them to “lethal” temperatures, according to the heat warning.
