Good morning, Salem.
Young musicians from elementary, middle and high schools around Oregon came to McKay High School Saturday for an all-day mariachi festival.
Students performed for an audience in the cafeteria, before heading to the auditorium to get feedback from a mariachi expert from Las Vegas.
It was put together by Cynthia Flores, a first-year music teacher in the district. She wants to keep growing the mariachi program, and expand its funding for McKay students to have more instruments. See our photos from the day below.
