Good morning, Salem.
The city’s water treatment facility normally draws on the river for much of its supply, but uses both wells and Keizer’s supply as backup when needed. Last week, city officials announced they would start drawing on those sources because of the amount of sediment being flushed into the Santiam.
Normal operations at the city’s Geren Island Water Treatment Facility should resume in a few days, public works spokesman Jason Roberts said Monday.
