An internationally recognized consultant and author will speak next month in Salem about how to include community members in discussions about issues directly impacting them.

Paul Schmitz is senior advisor at the Collective Impact Forum, a group of people and organizations that work together to boost equity, and CEO of the consulting firm Leading Inside Out.

Schmitz’s presentation scheduled for Jan. 4. from 8-9:30 a.m is titled, “Community, Business, and Education Leaders Collaborative Gathering.” The event will be held by Community Business and Education Leaders, a collaboration started in 2019 to address family and educational needs within the Salem-Keizer School District.

“Community engagement is about ensuring that those most impacted by social challenges have a say in designing and implementing solutions,” Schmitz wrote in an event flier.
