Volunteers are needed to do battle against invasive plants in a Salem park.

If you’re free Thursday morning, you could join a crew sprucing up Englewood Park ahead of this weekend’s Englewood Forest Festival.

From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will be mulching trees with wood chips and pulling out invasive plants at the park, located at 1260 19th St. N.E. Register online through SOLVE Oregon, which is coordinating with the city of Salem and Northeast Neighbors.
