After a lull during summer’s warmest weeks, a few major events are again on the horizon for Salem.

A new music festival, Capital City Retro Fest, will take over Riverfront Park this weekend, as Hailey Cook reports below.

The Oregon State Fair begins Friday.

And a few more coming up:

Punx in the Park comes to Riverfront Park Sunday, Aug. 31, for its signature mix of concerts and resource festival for youth.

The Salem Art Fair & Festival returns to Bush’s Pasture Park from Friday, Sept. 12-Sunday, Sept. 14.

Pride in the Park will be at Riverfront Park on Saturday, Sept. 20.

The city listening session today on public safety and livability ends at 10:30 a.m., not p.m. We’ve covered some long public meetings in our careers, but none yet that ran past 13 hours.
