Good morning, Salem. Happy Monday.

It’s supposed to be in the 70s all week, so what better time to spend next Thursday afternoon at Pringle Park learning about Salem’s watershed and aquatic ecology?

The free and family-friendly Stream Celebration event on Aug. 22 is hosted by Mid-Willamette Outreach Group and offers free educational sessions to learn about water quality, aquatic creatures, riparian habitats, and how to support a healthy watershed.

It goes from 4-7 p.m. and then inside the Pringle Hall Community Center, there will be a showing of the film “UPRIVER,” which explores one of the country’s most active river conservation movements. The movie goes from 7-8:30 p.m.

If you want to snag a spot, you should probably RSVP

If river conservation isn’t your thing, there’s also “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” playing at 8 p.m. at Riverfront Park on Friday as part of the Movies in the Park program.
