Good morning, Salem.

Two World War II-era bombers are making a stop at Salem’s airport this week, giving visitors a chance to tour them or even take a ride.

A B-17 Flying Fortress ‘Sentimental Journey’ and B-25 Mitchell ‘Maid in the Shade,’ will be on public exhibition at the B-17 Alliance Foundation at the Salem airport, 3278 25th St S.E.

People can tour the aircraft for $15 per person or $30 for a family of four during public tour hours, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, through Thursday, Aug. 21. Rides are available Friday and Saturday, with additional tours from 2-6 p.m. both days.

Rides start at $375 per person. No reservations are needed to tour the planes on the ground. Learn more or reserve a flight here.
