Good morning, Salem.
It’s not too late to get a summer job.
The Oregon State Fair is hiring for hundreds of positions, including Sunny the Sunflower, the fair mascot. (Applicants should be between 5’6″ and 5’11” with a sunny disposition.)
Other jobs include ride operators, parking attendants, concessions and maintaining the livestock barns. Fair employees must be at least 16 year old, and 18 to work in some departments.
The fair runs Aug. 23 to Sept. 2.
People can apply online or at the fair’s annual job fair on Saturday, Aug. 3. Interviews will be held starting at 9 a.m. in the pavilion at the state fairgrounds. The building is closest to the Northeast Sunnyview Road entrance to the grounds.
