Among the festivities will be a celebration of a familiar friend: the pigeon. Artist Aimee O’Will will be at Salem on the Edge to chat about her pigeon paintings –  all 100 of them – on display at the gallery, 156 Liberty St. N.E.

“Pigeons are universal, nearly everybody is familiar with them. As a family, there are more than 250 species worldwide—demonstrating great diversity and adaptability. Across human culture they symbolize community, love and hope. Throughout history pigeons have been our heroes and our food. In these times of extreme social division, Aimee presents 100 pigeon paintings as a vision of unity,” a gallery description said.
