Good morning, Salem.

Along with the usual fun and food at the Oregon State Fair, this year’s festivities come with a chance at stardom.

Western University of Health Sciences Lebanon Oregon

The fair, along with KATU, will be hosting auditions for the television show “American Idol” on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m.

The deadline to register and submit an audition video is Aug. 15. From there, 40 singers will be chosen to compete on stage during the fair.

The audience will choose a favorite, whose performance tape will be sent directly to the executive producers of “American Idol,”
