The city has lifted its temporary ban on burning as the Salem area is seeing cooler and more humid weather.
Salem officials lifted the ban Monday morning, re-allowing outdoor burning, ceremonial and recreational fires.
The city previously banned such burning on Aug. 13 as high temperatures and winds were forecasted for the area.
“City and fire officials ask the community to remain alert and mindful of the dry conditions and practice fire safety when burning outdoors,” according to a city news release.
