Good morning, Salem.

Road closures are expected in Salem this coming week for paving and sewage projects.

On Saturday, June 10, and Sunday, June 11, Southeast Madrona Avenue will close from west of Southeast Commercial Street to Southeast Neef Avenue. Contractors will finish repaving the street during that time.

Traffic will detour to Southeast Ratcliff Drive or Southeast Salem Heights Avenue. Local access will be allowed to residents near Southeast Hillview Drive and Southeast Neef Avenue.

Starting June 12, Southeast Turner Road will have closures south of Kuebler Road and north of Southeast Deer Park Road for around two weeks. The construction will connect water and sewer lines for the incoming 900,000-square-foot Dollar General administration, dry goods and cold storage distribution center.

Northbound traffic will detour to Southeast Deer Park Road and Southeast Aumsville Highway, and southbound traffic will remain open.

The city is suggesting an alternate route for Turner residents to get to Salem, using Delany Road to Commercial street.

The city of Salem maps active construction projects on its website.
