Good morning, Salem.
The club stocks little free libraries across north and east Salem, putting kids’ books in easy reach of families who live far from the city library.
The drive ended with 819 books donated, surpassing the club’s goal of 600. Catherine Carlson, who helps run the drive for the club, said Salem Reporter readers made a difference in getting the total so high.
“Our hope is that our little libraries will help improve literacy scores for local students, helping them to become skilled and avid readers,” Carlson said.
