The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.
As of Tuesday, Salem is down to one Venti’s location.
The restaurant announced on Facebook that the Venti’s Cafe & Taphouse in south Salem was closed after 13 years, leaving only the downtown storefront on Northeast Court Street open.
“The shifting economy and our commitment to meeting everyone’s needs have led us to make this difficult decision,” the post said.
The abrupt announcement came less than two weeks after Venti’s cut hours at both locations to 5 days per week and changed the south location to offer counter service.
“We are also sensitive to the reality that as prices climb in our world today, we remain affordable without compromising that very quality,” a July 29 email to customers said. “Counter service allows us to do this in the most critical areas of our business, delivering to you a satisfying experience and a livable wage for our team. As we grow into this new model at the Taphouse, we will be able to expand our offerings for you.”
