The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.
The Englewood Forest Festival is a free summer day of art, music and dance, plus hands-on nature activities set in a beautiful and shady park.
This year, it takes place Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Englewood Park, 1260 19th St. N.E.
Volunteers are needed to help staff the information booth, assist vendors, sit at booths and to help with setting up the festival beforehand, and cleaning it up afterwards.
“Designed by the renown female-owned firm of Lord & Schryver, the historic park itself is a key feature containing hundreds of towering white oaks and Douglas fir trees that are hundreds of years old,” said Sarah Rohrs, a festival volunteer, in an email.
“Now in its seventh year, the annual event is meant to inspire youth to dream, provide opportunities for environmental education, support the arts, and to connect with friends and neighbors,” she said.
Those interested in volunteering can send an email to [email protected] or call 503-977-4731.
