The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.

We’re a week out from Salem Reporter’s Town Hall on Gun Violence, and we hope you’ll join us for this important community conversation on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Elsinore Theatre.

We’ve secured interpreters from a Salem company to provide simultaneous interpretation into Spanish via a radio headset at the event. This means anyone who’s more comfortable listening in Spanish can check out a device and hear a live feed as our speakers talk.

Anyone in the audience is invited to ask questions of the panelists – we’ll take written submissions in both English and Spanish.

We’ll also record and publish the Spanish audio over video of the event to complement the English livestream.

I’ve been working on this because I believe it’s important that discussions about key community issues be accessible to as many Salemites as possible, regardless of the language they speak. The graphic below has more information about the event – free tickets are available HERE.
