Good evening, Salem.

City leaders could still use your help figuring out how to balance Salem’s budget.

A revenue task force is set after city council appointments this week, with citizens from each ward of Salem represented. But consultants are also holding focus groups to help them understand what Salemites understand about the city’s revenue and their opinions on various options to get more money.

Focus groups run from Feb. 26 to March 7, and participants will take part in one evening session for about an hour and a half. People can submit interest in participating here by Jan. 30.

We want to apologize for a technical glitch this morning which prevented our regular morning headlines from making it to your inbox. We’ve included those stories in this evening’s edition.

Here’s some of today’s news. You can always find our latest reports anytime on our website.
