Holiday events are kicking off this weekend in Salem, with markets to showcase local artisans.
One annual staple held Saturday is the Empty Bowls event, a fundraiser for Marion Polk Food Share and Willamette Art Center featuring the work of hundreds of local potters and crafters.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Cascade Hall at the Oregon State Fairgrounds, you can browse donated bowls, pitchers, platters and other ceramic and wood items, with proceeds supporting the food share and art center. The fairgrounds are located at 2330 17th St. N.E.
