Good morning, Salem.

There are three open seats on the Salem-Keizer School District’s budget committee.

Western University of Health Sciences Lebanon Oregon

The district started accepting applications on Sept. 5 and will do so until 4 p.m. on Oct. 2.

Those appointed by the school district will serve three-year terms ending on June 30, 2026.

Under state law, candidates need to be registered voters and school district residents. They can’t be employees, officers or agents of the district. At least one applicant will be appointed who serves on the District Equity Advisory Committee, according to the district’s website.

The school board will interview candidates at its October 24 meeting. The board normally appoints members immediately after interviewing candidates.

More information about how to apply can be found on the district’s website.
