Today, we’re rolling out a new monthly feature: Neighborhood News.
Salem is divided into 17 neighborhood associations that work on the sort of community issues that affect your life every day: improvements to local parks, graffiti, housing development and street and sidewalk safety.
Associations meet monthly and are often a labor of love for the volunteers who put in hours to make things happen. We hope this feature helps connect Salemites to their communities and spotlight the work neighborhood associations are doing around the city.
We invited each association’s leadership to submit a brief news item, and got submissions from eight. We’ll continue to publish these items monthly. Please send any feedback or questions to Managing Editor Rachel Alexander at [email protected].
Salem’s neighborhood associations bring you the latest about local parks, events and issues of concern. This month: a new street mural, a cleanup in Highland and how to get involved.
