Good evening, Salem.
Police briefly closed a block of Southeast Commercial Street between South Alice Avenue and South Candalaria Boulevard Thursday afternoon after receiving a report of a suspicious package at a nearby business.
Salem police’s bomb squad responded and determined there was no hazard at the scene, the agency said on Twitter. The road was back open by 3 p.m.
