Your Friday evening update on Salem news

Salem, you’ve made it clear you want transparency at City Hall.

More than 60 people have contributed so far to Salem Reporter’s Disclosure Fund, putting us within $500 of the goal. The money is to cover a $4,000+ bill the city of Salem is imposing to search for records. This is part of our ongoing work to get the full facts on the sudden departure of a deputy police chief, Steve Bellshaw.

Your news team deeply appreciates those who have decided to partner with us on this work. If you want to help get us over the top, please go here: DISCLOSURE FUND LINK.

As soon as we hit the goal, we’ll notify Salem city officials to have them start rounding up the documents.

We’ll keep you posted.

Catch all Salem Reporter’s stories anytime on our website.
