Your Friday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem.
Salem is under a wind advisory until 1 a.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service’s Portland office warns, “Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.”
If you’re looking for an indoor activity, tonight is the premiere for local filmmaker Chuck Magee’s feature-length film “Cocaine Snorting Crabs From Outer Space,” showing at the Grand at 7 p.m. Our article from earlier this week is below.
And if the fall weather has you down, this is a good weekend to pick up a furry friend. The Oregon Humane Society is offering half price kitten adoptions this weekend only at its Salem campus, 4246 Turner Rd. S. (open daily 10 a.m.-7 p.m.) and at Meow Town at the Pet Smart on Northeast Lancaster Drive. View cats and schedule an adoption appointment here.
