You might see purple lights across the Union Street Bridge in Salem starting tonight. The city is lighting the bridge at the request of the Brenneman family, in honor of their child who was found drowned in the Willamette River after going missing in mid-September.
The lighting coincides with several events in Salem this weekend focused on suicide prevention and mental health support. We have more details below.
