Your Wednesday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem!

President Joe Biden today announced a major plan to forgive student debt, with qualifications. There was relief in some quarters from coast to coast, and we’re interested in learning how this news landed with Salem families who will benefit.

If you or someone in your family has student loan debt, our crew would love to hear your reaction to the forgiveness plan announced today. Will this help your household? Or not make much of a dent in what you owe? What questions do you have?

Tour Egypt 200 years ago

It’s the last week on display in Salem for an art exhibit over 40 years in the making. The exhibit “David Roberts: Artist and Traveler” displays about 60 prints from the Scottish sketch artist whose depictions of Egyptian landmarks and architecture in the 1830s helped spur European interest in Egyptology and travel outside the continent. It will be on display at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art through Saturday, Aug. 27.

Get the details HERE and check out our Events Calendar below for other goings-on that might be of interest. You can also find our story about the exhibit HERE.

Government agencies can – and should – list their public meetings. Nonprofits can list fundraising events open to the community. And clubs and groups can enter events that are open to the public.

In other words, if it’s happening, and it’s public, you can list. There is no cost for our base listing and you have options to buy even more attention: SUBMIT EVENT
