Good morning, Salem.
Marion County residents impacted by the 2020 Labor Day wildfires have until June 30 to apply for state support to help cover rent and utility bills.
To qualify, applicants must meet income requirements and provide verification that their home was lost to or damaged by the fires. The state is also accepting applications from lower income people experiencing housing instability after having to move because of the fires.
See the state’s Intermediate Housing Assistance program website for more information, and to apply.
“IHA provides a vital need for renters who are also wildfire survivors to help keep them stably housed as they figure out their permanent housing solution,” Shannon Marheine, the state housing agency’s director of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, said in a statement. “We encourage anyone who is eligible and hasn’t yet applied to do so as soon as possible. If you know someone might benefit from this program, please spread the word.”
