FYI
I took a friend who was having breathing problems to the ER in the hospital in the middle of London. It was a Saturday and there were only 4 people in the waiting room. The receptionist knew we were from the U.S. so she clearly told us there is never a charge for anyone who comes to their emergency room, not even if you are tourists from the U.S. She said with a smile. “see..no cash register here” They did a whole work up including an EKG..before releasing her because they knew she would be flying home. She saw a doctor as well as nurses. If she had been admitted to the hospital they would have worked with her for some payment..
