Good morning, Salem.

Movies in the Park will return to Salem this summer.

The city of Salem announced its lineup for the free series of screenings held at Riverfront Park. They are:

Friday, July 10: Superman
Friday, July 24: The LEGO Batman Movie
Friday, Aug. 7: How to Train Your Dragon
Friday, Aug. 21: Zootopia 2

Movies begin at sunset.

The program’s future has been uncertain in recent years as the city faced budget cuts, but sponsors stepped up in 2025 to foot the cost through donations and in-kind support, city spokesman Jason Roberts said. The cost was about $23,000, with about 1,500 people attending each movie. This year’s program should cost about the same, and Roberts said sponsors again offset the cost.
