You’re invited to join a community conversation on how to support young children’s learning.

The Community Business and Education Leaders group is hosting an event next month called “From Fragile to Resilient” which will discuss the work done by parents, neighborhoods and community partners to encourage early learning. The conversation’s goal is to look at parents as children’s first teachers and examine paths toward literacy and emotional development before kindergarten.

Katie Costic, who’s part of an effort to connect a local school and the community, and Leslye Garcia, a kindergarten coordinator for the Marion Polk Early Learning Hub, will be joined by community members and people on neighborhood family councils to lead the event.

The free event will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. on March 5 at the REC by Valor Mentoring, 3500 River Rd. N. There will be limited seating available, so register ahead here. The group’s website also has more information about the event and other work it does.
