The National Weather Service is forecasting an “atmospheric river” for much of the Pacific Northwest, including the Salem area.

In simple terms, that means periods of heavy rain and gusts. Expect leaves to clog storm drains.

You can help by keeping an eye out for blocked drains, clearing leaves, avoiding flooded streets. If you spot an issue on a city road, report it to Salem’s public works dispatch line: 503-588-6311.
