Pedestrian killed in apparent hit-and-run in Keizer

Police found a 70-year-old pedestrian dead after he was apparently struck by a vehicle outside Keizer Friday afternoon.

Keizer police were called to the 6100 block of Windsor Island Road North around 12:30 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, the department said in a news release.

They discovered the man dead at the scene. No vehicle remained on site, police said.

Officer’s with the department’s traffic team are investigating the collision, with help from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The release did not say whether there were any witnesses to the collision.

Keizer police will release the man’s name after notifying next of kin. Windsor Island Road is now open.
