Good morning, Salem.
“After closing our brewery in November, we have looked tirelessly for a new location somewhere in South Salem. We were looking for something primarily move-in ready. We had a number of locations we worked toward obtaining but unfortunately nothing came to fruition,” the company said in a Facebook post.
Gilgamesh opened in 2009 and moved to its south Salem location in 2012. It still operates restaurants in Independence and Lincoln City, but downsized earlier this year by selling off brewery equipment.
“We will continue to improve those locations and we’ll continue to hunt for the perfect location in Salem to re-open in the near future,” the post said. Thomas Kay Flooring will take over the building at 2065 Madrona Ave. S.E.
