The Oregon State Fair kicks off this Friday at the state fairgrounds in northeast Salem. It will run through Labor Day, bringing 11 days of rides, entertainment, animals, deep-fried goodies and more.

If you live nearby, expect traffic around Northeast 17th Street, Silverton Road and Sunnyview Road, including traffic detours on Sunnyview to accommodate parking.
