Helping Hands Resources, which distributes free clothing and household necessities to schools, shelters and programs throughout Salem, is looking to expand to meet growing need in the community.

Salem Reporter toured their retail space, storage areas and warehouse, which volunteers say has become too small to hold their operations.

State legislators recently agreed, granting nearly $1 million to the nonprofit for a renovation and building expansion.
