Good evening, Salem.
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield wants to hear from Salem residents about how they’ve been impacted by recent federal government cuts.
Rayfield is hosting a town hall on Wednesday, July 23, at 6 p.m. at Salem’s Center 50+, located at 2615 Portland Rd. N.E. It will be the fifth event in his statewide “Federal Oversight Town Hall” series.
The forum focuses on federal cuts that have included healthcare, environmental protections, LGBTQ+ rights, grants, funding for federal workers, veterans, schools and libraries, the Oregon Department of Justice said in a statement.
Rayfield wants public feedback to help inform “legal strategies aimed at protecting the state’s interests,” according to the statement.
State Senator Deb Patterson and State Representatives Tom Andersen and Paul Evans will join Rayfield at the forum.
