PHOTOS: 6th, 9th graders start school in Salem
As freshmen looked over class schedules in the McKay High School commons Tuesday morning, the room filled with an uptempo accordion melody.
The sounds of a ballad sung by student band Los Reconocidoz, a quartet of two guitars, accordion and drums, provided a jolt of energy to students in varying stages of waking up around 8:30 a.m. on their first day of school.
