Center 50+ aims to double seniors served with $2.7m grant
Salem’s senior center plans to add 2,000 volunteers and double the number of seniors it serves over the next three years thanks to a $2.7 million grant.
The money will help the city-run Center 50+ and its nonprofit arm, Friends of Center 50+, expand programs into the community to reach more local seniors living in mobile home parks and other places that make traveling to the center difficult.
