Salem leaders and service providers found in violation of ethics law over inadequate meeting notices
Marion County Commissioner Danielle Bethell, Keizer Mayor Cathy Clark, former Salem Mayor Chris Hoy and other local leaders concede they violated state ethics law in their work overseeing a local homeless alliance.
They were held responsible for failing to fully notify the public about meetings for the Mid-Willamette Valley Homeless Alliance as required by state law. Such notices are intended to promote government transparency in part by alerting citizens to impending public meetings.
