Keizer woman accused of shooting man in Hayesville Thursday morning

A Keizer woman is accused of shooting a man in a Hayesville neighborhood Thursday morning, leaving him in critical condition.
Marion County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Emily A. Smith, 27, on accusations of attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary and unlawful use of a weapon, according to the Marion County Jail roster.
The injured man, 48, remained hospitalized in critical condition as of Thursday night, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. The agency did not identify the man in its statement.
Deputies responded shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday to a report of gunshots heard in the 3100 block of Northeast Tierra Drive, an unincorporated area in east Salem.
They found the injured man with gunshot wounds, and he was taken to Salem Hospital.
Smith is scheduled to appear at the Marion County Criminal Court Annex to face the charges on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
