UPDATE: Pedestrian injured in West Salem crash, Doaks Ferry Road reopened

A sedan driver struck and injured a man walking on Northwest Doaks Ferry Road Thursday morning, according to the Salem Police Department.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Salem police spokeswoman Angela Hedrick. 

The collision around 6:30 a.m. shut down the area near the intersection of Doaks Ferry and Northwest Hidden Valley Road. The streets were reopened around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. 

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation, Hedrick said. Police had not cited or arrested anyone as of Thursday afternoon.

Hedrick said she did not know where on the road the crash occurred.

A collision Thursday morning in West Salem left one person injured and shut down the intersection of Northwest Doaks Ferry Road and Hidden Valley Drive.

Traffic is being diverted from Doaks Ferry onto Northwest Grayhawk Court and Northwest Gehlar Road, the Salem Police Department wrote on X just after 7 a.m. Thursday.

The injured person was transported to a hospital, according to the agency.
