A young man has died from his injuries after a July stabbing at Wallace Marine Park, in an incident Salem police are investigating as a homicide.
Riley John Adams, 19, died on Monday, Aug. 19, after remaining hospitalized for several weeks in critical condition, according to Salem police.
Officers responded to a call about the stabbing around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 27. Adams was found with multiple stab wounds in the south end of the park, near the Union Street pedestrian bridge, according to Angela Hedrick, police spokeswoman.
Officers provided emergency medical care, and he was transported to Salem Health.
Adams was a Salem resident and was not living in the Wallace Marine Park encampment, Hedrick said.
