Three people were shot early Saturday, Feb. 3, near Washington Elementary School in northeast Salem, according to the Salem Police Department.
A father, age 42, and his sons, ages 22 and 15, were shot outside in an incident reported at 2:25 a.m., according to Angela Hedrick, police public information officer. She said two of the victims were being treated at Salem Health with “non-life threatening injuries.”
She said the shooting happened in the area of Northeast Lansing Avenue and Hammel Street. That is just south of Silverton Road and the elementary school is at that intersection.
Hedrick reported Saturday morning that no arrests had been made, and the department’s Violent Crimes Unit was investigating.
“They are still on the scene, actively working this case,” Hedrick said.
No other details of the shooting were immediately available.
