Hear about long-term plans for local schools during Tuesday work session

Leaders of the Salem-Keizer School District will give an overview of their plans for the district’s 40,000 students at a school board work session Tuesday.
The meeting includes updates from Superintendent Christy Perry and other district leaders about the district’s strategic plan and key performance indicators, the data district leaders track to assess how well they’re educating students.
Perry and other district leaders will also speak about plans for a district needs assessment beginning this year, and update the board on plans for an equity advisory committee for the district. That committee is a new requirement after the Oregon Legislature passed SB 732 in 2021.
Board members will also hear an update on the district’s long-range facilities plan.
To participate: The meeting will be held electronically on Tuesday at 6 p.m. over Zoom. Because it is a work session, board members will not make any decisions or take public comment. Members of the public can watch the meeting live on CC:Media, channel 21, or on YouTube at the links below.
